Who Is EJ Tackett?
EJ Tackett is a professional bowler from Indiana who competes on the PBA Tour, the leading professional circuit for ten-pin bowling in the United States. He is particularly recognized for his high-revolution, one-handed delivery and his ability to produce strong results across different lane conditions.
Tackett began his PBA career in 2012 and quickly established himself as an emerging competitor. His early success included Rookie of the Year recognition for the 2012–13 season, followed by his first national Tour title in 2015. These achievements marked the beginning of a career that would eventually place him among the sport’s leading champions.
His breakthrough came in 2016 when he won the PBA World Championship and received his first Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year award. Although he continued winning tournaments in subsequent seasons, his most dominant period began in 2023. That year, he completed the PBA Triple Crown and started an unprecedented sequence of four consecutive World Championship victories.
By September 2026, Tackett had received five Player of the Year awards, including four in succession. His achievements have made him an important figure in modern professional bowling and a frequent subject of discussions about the sport’s most successful contemporary players.
EJ Tackett Age and Birthday
EJ Tackett was born on August 7, 1992, making him 34 years old as of October 2026. His birthplace is reported as Huntington, Indiana, while Bluffton, Indiana, is widely identified as his hometown.
He entered professional bowling at a relatively young age, joining the PBA in 2012 when he was 20. Within a few seasons, he had progressed from a promising newcomer to a major championship winner. His first Player of the Year award arrived in 2016, when he was 24.
The years that followed demonstrated that his early success was not temporary. Tackett continued developing his technique and competitive approach, eventually producing some of the strongest seasons of his career in his early thirties. His 2026 achievements came more than a decade after his professional debut.
EJ Tackett Height and Physical Appearance
EJ Tackett’s height is commonly reported as approximately 5 feet 7 inches, equivalent to around 170 centimeters. This measurement appears in secondary biographical profiles, although an independently confirmed official height measurement is not readily established.
His physical reputation in bowling is based less on his stature than on the speed, power, and revolutions generated by his delivery. Tackett uses a traditional one-handed release, producing considerable rotation while maintaining the accuracy required for professional competition.
His equipment sponsor, MOTIV Bowling, lists his approximate rev rate at 525 revolutions per minute. This places him among the high-revolution players on the professional circuit. Such a release can generate significant hook potential, although its effectiveness depends on lane conditions, ball selection, and execution.
Tackett’s distinctive technique has become a recognizable part of his competitive identity. His performances demonstrate that professional bowling relies on coordination, timing, precision, and the ability to adapt rather than physical size alone.
EJ Tackett Early Life and Family Background
EJ Tackett grew up in Indiana, a state with a long-established bowling culture and a strong connection to competitive bowling. His hometown of Bluffton has remained closely associated with his professional identity throughout his career.
His father, Ed Tackett, has appeared in PBA coverage discussing his son’s achievements. During EJ’s 2023 Triple Crown victory, Ed spoke about the significance of the moment and his confidence in his son’s ability to perform under pressure. These public appearances provide a documented connection between Tackett’s family and his professional accomplishments.
EJ also has a younger brother, Zac Tackett, who is involved in professional bowling. The brothers share a connection to the sport that extends beyond tournament competition, including their involvement in bowling-related business activities.
Although his family has occasionally appeared in professional bowling coverage, detailed information about his mother’s background and other private aspects of his childhood has not been widely documented. His publicly established early-life story is therefore best understood through his Indiana upbringing and progression into competitive bowling.
EJ Tackett Education and Early Bowling Training
Specific details about EJ Tackett’s formal education, including his schools and academic qualifications, are not sufficiently established in reliable public records. His professional history provides considerably more information about his development as a bowler.
Tackett’s early competitive progress suggests a strong foundation in the technical and strategic demands of ten-pin bowling. His success as a young professional required more than the ability to throw a powerful ball. Competitive bowling also involves understanding oil patterns, adjusting ball speed, controlling rotation, and making equipment decisions throughout a tournament.
His development continued after he entered the PBA. In interviews published by the association, Tackett has discussed how early championship defeats influenced his preparation and approach to difficult lane conditions. These experiences helped him become a more adaptable competitor.
Rather than relying exclusively on his natural power, he gradually developed a more comprehensive understanding of the game. That evolution became particularly important during his later championship-winning seasons.
EJ Tackett Bowling Career
Joining the PBA and Early Professional Success
Tackett joined the Professional Bowlers Association in 2012 and began competing against established professional bowlers. His rookie season attracted attention, earning him the PBA Rookie of the Year award for 2012–13.
The transition into professional bowling presented a different level of competition. Tour players regularly face changing oil patterns, demanding qualifying formats, and championship matches in which a small number of mistakes can determine the outcome. Tackett’s early results showed that he could compete in this environment.
In 2015, he secured his first PBA Tour title. The victory represented an important career milestone, confirming his ability to win at the national professional level. That same year, he reached the PBA World Championship final but lost to Gary Faulkner Jr.
Although the championship defeat was disappointing, it became part of his professional development. Tackett later gained a deeper understanding of the strategic adjustments required to succeed consistently in major events.
Breakthrough Season in 2016
The 2016 season transformed Tackett’s professional standing. He won four PBA Tour titles, including the PBA World Championship, and earned his first Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year award.
Winning a major championship established him as more than a promising young competitor. The World Championship is one of professional bowling’s most prestigious events, and his victory demonstrated that he could perform successfully against elite opposition under significant pressure.
The Player of the Year award reflected his broader performance throughout the season. It recognized his consistency, tournament victories, and position among the leading competitors on the Tour.
By the end of 2016, Tackett had moved into the highest level of professional bowling. His subsequent challenge was to maintain that success while other leading players continued developing their own competitive approaches.
Building Consistency From 2017 to 2022
Tackett remained a prominent competitor in the years following his breakthrough. According to the PBA’s season-by-season career statistics, he won five Tour titles in 2017 and four in 2018, reinforcing his reputation as a regular championship contender.
His results varied in later seasons, but he continued competing at the professional level. Maintaining success in bowling requires constant adjustments because tournament conditions, equipment technology, and competitive strategies evolve over time.
During this period, Tackett refined his understanding of ball selection, lane transitions, and shot execution. His technical development became an important factor in the resurgence that followed.
By 2022, he had added further tournament victories and remained among the players capable of challenging for major championships. The following season would become one of the most significant of his career.
Completing the PBA Triple Crown in 2023
In 2023, Tackett achieved one of professional bowling’s most respected milestones by completing the PBA Triple Crown. The distinction requires victories in three major events: the PBA World Championship, the Tournament of Champions, and the U.S. Open.
Completing the Triple Crown demonstrated success across different championship formats and competitive conditions. It also placed Tackett among a select group of bowlers who have won all three prestigious events.
The achievement carried personal significance because of his longstanding ambition to win major championships. His family was present during the occasion, and the PBA documented reactions from his father and wife.
Tackett won five Tour titles during the 2023 season, including two majors. His performances earned him a second career Player of the Year award, beginning a remarkable period of sustained dominance.
Consecutive World Championships in 2024 and 2025
Tackett continued his major championship success in 2024, winning another PBA World Championship. The victory gave him consecutive titles in the event and strengthened his position among the sport’s leading competitors.
He also earned his third career Player of the Year award that season. His results reflected the consistency of a player who had developed both the technical ability and competitive judgment necessary to succeed across different tournament formats.
In 2025, he extended his World Championship winning streak to three consecutive victories. He defeated Jason Belmonte 242–222 in the championship final, adding another significant result to their competitive history.
His 2025 season also included victories in the U.S. Open, Pete Weber Missouri Classic, and Shark Championship. Those performances helped him secure a fourth career Player of the Year award.
Historic 2026 Season
The 2026 season brought another historic achievement when Tackett won his fourth consecutive PBA World Championship. The PBA identified the accomplishment as the first four-peat of a title event in Tour history.
His success was not limited to that championship. Across 438 games during the season, he recorded a scoring average of 229.79, establishing a PBA Tour single-season record.
Tackett also finished among the top five competitors in ten events and placed in the top ten in thirteen. He earned prize money in seventeen of eighteen title events, demonstrating exceptional consistency throughout the schedule.
On September 9, 2026, the PBA announced that he had won his fifth Chris Schenkel Player of the Year award. It was his fourth consecutive award, making him the first player in PBA history to achieve that particular streak.
EJ Tackett PBA Titles, Awards and Career Achievements
EJ Tackett’s competitive record includes major championship victories, individual awards, and statistical achievements that distinguish his career from those of many other professional bowlers.
His five Player of the Year awards are especially significant because they recognize overall performance rather than success in a single tournament. Winning the award four consecutive times from 2023 through 2026 demonstrates the consistency of his results across multiple seasons.
His major accomplishments include:
- Five Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year awards in 2016 and 2023–2026.
- Four consecutive PBA World Championship victories from 2023 through 2026.
- Completion of the PBA Triple Crown in 2023.
- PBA Rookie of the Year recognition for the 2012–13 season.
- A record PBA Tour single-season scoring average of 229.79 in 2026.
- Multiple national Tour titles and major championship victories.
The exact cumulative number of Tour titles and majors should be checked against the latest official PBA statistics because published career totals may reflect different reporting dates.
Among these accomplishments, the four consecutive World Championships stand out as a particularly important part of his sporting legacy. They represent sustained success in one of the most demanding competitions on the professional bowling calendar.
EJ Tackett Bowling Style and Equipment
Tackett is known for his right-handed, one-handed bowling technique and high-revolution release. His style combines substantial ball rotation with the control required to compete effectively on demanding professional lane patterns.
According to MOTIV Bowling, his approximate rev rate is 525 RPM. A high rev rate can help generate a strong ball reaction, particularly when combined with appropriate speed, launch angle, and equipment selection.
Professional bowling involves far more than producing a powerful hook. Players must read how oil is distributed across the lane and recognize how conditions change as repeated shots alter the playing surface. Different bowling balls and surface preparations respond differently to those conditions.
Tackett’s development has included improving his understanding of these variables. PBA reporting has described how he learned from earlier championship losses and became more precise in choosing equipment and adjusting his strategy.
His partnership with MOTIV Bowling is another important part of his professional identity. The equipment manufacturer features him among its sponsored athletes and provides technical information about his bowling specifications.
EJ Tackett Wife: Who Is Natalie Tackett?
EJ Tackett is married to Natalie Tackett, who has appeared in professional bowling coverage alongside her husband. Their relationship is publicly documented by the PBA, including reports surrounding his major championship victories.
Natalie was present during his 2023 Triple Crown achievement, an occasion that highlighted the family’s involvement in his professional journey. The championship represented a significant personal milestone, and her presence formed part of the association’s coverage of the event.
She is also involved in bowling-related business operations. An October 2026 PBA feature described Natalie contributing to staff organization, hiring, and payroll responsibilities at a bowling center associated with the Tackett family.
The couple maintain a relatively private family life compared with Tackett’s highly visible professional career. Public information about their marriage is therefore best limited to documented appearances, family milestones, and their shared involvement in bowling.
EJ Tackett Children and Family Life
EJ and Natalie Tackett have a publicly documented son named Eddie III, who is known by the nickname Tripp. The PBA reported the arrival of their first child in December 2023 and later identified their son by name in April 2024.
Fatherhood became part of Tackett’s life during an especially successful period of his professional career. He was already an established major champion when the couple welcomed their son, and his competitive achievements continued in the following seasons.
His family connections extend into professional bowling through his younger brother, Zac. The brothers have competed in the sport and have also been associated with bowling-center operations.
In October 2026, the PBA published a feature about the family’s involvement in organizing bowling activities while balancing professional competition and business responsibilities. The report offered a broader picture of Tackett’s life beyond tournament appearances.
Although his family is occasionally mentioned in sports coverage, most details of their private routines remain outside the public record.
EJ Tackett Brother: Who Is Zac Tackett?
Zac Tackett is EJ Tackett’s younger brother and is also involved in professional bowling. Their shared connection to the sport has made the Tackett family recognizable within the bowling community.
Zac has competed in PBA events and has worked alongside EJ in bowling-related activities. Their professional association includes involvement in operating a bowling center and supporting regional bowling events.
The brothers’ relationship demonstrates how bowling has become both a competitive pursuit and a business interest within the family. Their partners have also contributed to aspects of these operations.
One distinction is important when researching their family background. The PBA has identified another competitor named Zachary Tackett from Virginia who is not related to EJ and Zac Tackett of Indiana. Confusing the two athletes can lead to inaccurate biographical information.
EJ Tackett Net Worth and Career Earnings
EJ Tackett’s exact net worth has not been publicly verified. Several entertainment and biography websites publish estimates ranging from approximately $2 million to $7 million, but these figures are not supported by comprehensive public financial records.
His professional bowling earnings provide a more reliable indication of his financial success. The PBA athlete profile has displayed career prize money exceeding $2.3 million, although the figure may not include every subsequent tournament result.
In 2026 alone, Tackett earned $324,075 in official PBA Tour prize money. That amount reflected his performance across the season, including his World Championship victory and numerous high finishes.
Prize money is only one component of a professional athlete’s finances. Tackett also has a documented sponsorship relationship with MOTIV Bowling and involvement in bowling-related business activities. The financial terms of those arrangements have not been publicly established.
Tournament earnings should not be confused with personal wealth. Taxes, travel expenses, coaching or equipment costs, business investments, and other financial obligations affect how much income an athlete ultimately retains.
For these reasons, no specific net worth estimate can be treated as confirmed. His official tournament earnings and documented professional activities offer a more dependable basis for understanding his financial career.
EJ Tackett and Jason Belmonte’s Professional Rivalry
Jason Belmonte is one of the most important competitors associated with Tackett’s professional career. Both players have achieved major success on the PBA Tour, although their bowling techniques differ considerably.
Belmonte is widely known for his two-handed delivery, while Tackett uses a traditional one-handed release with a high rev rate. Their different approaches have contributed to interest in their competitive matchups.
The two have met in significant tournament situations, including the 2025 PBA World Championship final. Tackett won that match 242–222, securing his third consecutive victory in the event.
Their competitive history reflects the high standards required at the top of professional bowling. Both players have influenced discussions about technique, consistency, and major championship performance.
For Tackett, victories against leading competitors such as Belmonte have strengthened his reputation as a player capable of delivering under pressure.
EJ Tackett Business Activities and Sponsorships
In addition to tournament competition, Tackett has participated in business activities connected to the bowling industry. His association with MOTIV Bowling is a publicly documented sponsorship relationship involving professional equipment and athlete representation.
The company’s official athlete profile features his technical specifications and competitive achievements. Equipment partnerships are a common part of professional bowling, where athletes work with manufacturers whose products they use during competition.
Tackett has also been involved in bowling-center operations alongside his brother Zac. An October 2026 PBA report described the brothers and their partners contributing to the organization and management of a bowling facility and related events.
These activities demonstrate a professional connection to bowling beyond tournament participation. They also provide a practical link between elite competition and the local bowling community.
Public reporting does not establish the complete financial structure of these business arrangements, including ownership percentages or annual revenue. Their significance lies in Tackett’s documented involvement rather than any speculative business valuation.
EJ Tackett Latest News and Career in 2026
As of October 2026, Tackett remains one of the most prominent active competitors in professional bowling. His fifth Player of the Year award, announced in September, followed another season of exceptional statistical performance.
His fourth consecutive World Championship victory was the defining achievement of the year. It extended a winning streak that began in 2023 and established a new milestone in PBA Tour history.
The 2026 season also demonstrated the importance of consistency. Despite winning only one Tour title that year, Tackett led major performance categories, including scoring average, and recorded numerous high tournament finishes.
His professional activities have continued beyond competition. October reporting highlighted his family’s involvement in bowling-center operations, showing how he remains connected to the sport through both business and competitive commitments.
Together, these developments place Tackett’s current career in the context of sustained success rather than a single championship season.
